THE REALITY OF DEATH

THE INTRODUCTION

The Bible says, "Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Romans 5:12). Now, we have an appointment with physical death because we have sinned against God, but we do not have an appointment with Spiritual Death unless we should die in a sinful state. Therefore, we should obey the Gospel of Christ so that we can keep from dying in a Spiritual Way because Spiritual Death is being Eternally Separated away from the Lord our God. Remember: All Scriptures which are used in this article will be taken from the King James Version of the Bible.

THE NATURE OF DEATH

1. Physical death is the separation of our Soul and Spirit from our physical body. Solomon said, "The body (the physical body) shall return to the earth as it was: and the Spirit and Soul shall return unto God who gave them" (Ecclesiastes 12:7). James said, "For as the body (the fleshly body) without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also" (James 2:27).

2. Spiritual Death is the separation of our Spiritual Body, and our Eternal Soul and Spirit from the Lord our God. Jesus said, "Fear not them which kill the body (the physical body), but are not able to kill the soul (the Inner Man): but rather fear him (God) who is able to destroy (to punish) both soul and body (Spiritual Body) in hell" (Matthew 10:28).

THE REASONS FOR DEATH

1. Sin causes physical death. Our Lord said, "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (Genesis 2:17). We do inherit from Adam and Eve a physical body which has the curse of death pronounced upon it. Therefore, we don't inherit from Adam and Eve an Eternal Soul and Spirit which has the curse of Spiritual Death pronounced upon them because we must die physically in a state of sin before our Soul and Spirit will have the curse of Eternal Death pronounced upon them.

2. Sin will cause Spiritual Death. Ezekiel said, "The soul (the person) that sinneth, he shall die (a Spiritual Death). The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him" (Ezekiel 18:20). Paul said, "For the wages (the dividends) of sin is death (Spiritual Death), but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Spiritual Death is a conditional state because we must live and die in a state of sin. Therefore, we are only responsible for our own acts and deeds which we do in this life.

THE REALITY OF DEATH

1. In being New Testament Christians, we have an appointment with physical death because that is the law of God. The Bible says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27). When we are born into the world, God appoints unto us a day in which we must die in a physical way. That day can be determined by the acts and deeds which we do upon the earth. Therefore, Spiritual Death will come to those who are in rebellion against God after the day of judgment because they will have to spend eternity separated from the Lord our God.

2. In being new creatures in Christ, we do not have an appointment with Spiritual Death because our Lord abolished Spiritual Death for us. Paul said, "Who (God) hath save us (through Christ), and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ who hath abolished death (Spiritual Death for the righteous), and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel" (2 Timothy 1:9-10). We must die in a physical way because that is the law of God. However, we do have to die in a Spiritual Way because we can accept the terms of the gospel plan of salvation. Therefore, we can made preparations for the coming judgment and be prepared to meet our God.

PREPARING FOR DEATH

1. If we will obey the gospel of Christ, we will be prepared for physical death. Paul asked, "Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death (Spiritual Death), or of obedience unto righteousness? But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine (the gospel of Christ), which was delivered unto you. Being then made from from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness", i. e. being prepared to meet God in judgment (Romans 6:16-18).

2. If we are seeking to save the lost, we will be prepared for physical death. Our Lord said, "When I say unto the wicked, thou shalt surely die, and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will require at thine hand; Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul" Ezekiel 3:18-19). Paul said, "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted" (Galatians 6:). James said, "Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; Let him know, that he which convereth the sinner from the error of his way, shall save a soul from death (Spiritual Death), and shall hide a multitude of sins" (James 5:19-20).The Lord wants us who are spiritual to evangelize the world which is lost in sin because God would have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. So then, the Lord want us to convert out brother who has been overtaken in a fault because we could save a soul from spiritual death. Therefore, if we will try to save the lost, we will be prepared for the coming judgment.

3. If we are living a godly life upon the earth, we will be prepared for physical death. Paul said, "For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and world lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:11-13). It is the will of God that we live a righteous life upon the earth because we have been created and redeemed for that very purpose in life. Therefore, if we will live a God-fearing life upon the earth, we will be prepared for physical death and the judgment to come.

THE RESULTS OF DEATH

1. If we are unrighteous, Spiritual Death is a curse unto us because we would have to exist eternally with the Devil and his angels in hell. Paul said, "And to you which are troubles rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power" (2 Thessalonians 1:7-9).

2. If we are righteous, physical death is a blessing unto us because we can live eternally with the Lord our God in heaven. John said, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; and their words do follow them" (Revelation 14:13).

THE APPLICATION

1. If we want to be prepared for our own physical Death in this life, we must be willing to learn that the damnable heresies of the Denominational World is what makes a Ranked Hierarchy to rule in a religious way upon the earth because they simply make the Clergy and the Laity Class of persons to exist in their man-made churches.

2. The New Testament Church of Christ must Scripturally teach that a Ranked Hierarchy can not rule in the Lord's Church upon the earth because each congregation of the New Testament Church must be autonomous (self-ruled), and under the leadership of its own qualified elders or bishops. For an example:

THE DAMNABLE HERESIES OF A RANKED HIERARCHY

THE RELIGIOUS INSANITY OF THE DENOMINATIONAL WORLD

Our Lord said, "Ye do err not knowing the Scriptures nor the Power of God" (Matthew 22:29).

1. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because Christ (not a redeemed man) is the Head (the Ruler) of the Lord's Church. Paul said, "He (Christ) is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning,, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence", i. e. being first in power, rule, and authority (Colossians 1:18). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly enriches the whole being of our own Redeemed Nature of life because a redeemed man can not rule over the Lord's Church.

2. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because each congregation of the Lord's Church must be autonomous (self-ruled) and under the leadership of its own qualified elders or bishops. Luke said, "And when they had ordained them elders (more than one person) in ever church, and had prayed, with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed" (Acts 14:23). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly exalts all aspects of our own Redeemed Nature of life because a presiding elder can not rule over other elders or bishops, nor can a presiding priest rule over other priests in the Lord's Church.

3. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because all New Testament Christians are made to be kings and priest unto God so that the Lord can help them to rule over the forces of evil. John said, "Unto him (Christ) that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood. And hath make us kings and priest unto God and his Father; unto him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen" (Revelation 1:6-7). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly magnifies the total sum of our own Redeemed Nature of life because no redeemed king or priest can be any greater in power, rule, and authority than another redeemed king or priest in the Lord's Church.

4. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because no one religious man can be first in power, rule, and authority which concerns his leadership in the Lord's Church. John said of Diotrephes who wanted to be first in power, rule and authority, "I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence (wanting to be first in power, rule and authority) among them, receiveth us not. Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth prating against us with malicious words; and not content therewith, neither doeth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church" (2 John 9-10). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly upgrades the whole being of our own Redeemed Nature of life because no one redeemed man can be first in power, rule, and authority in the Lord's Church.

5.
A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because we can not make any priest (a religious person) to be our Spiritual Father upon the earth. Our Lord said, "Call no man (a religious person) your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, who is in heaven" (Matthew 23:9). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly amplifies all aspects of our own Redeemed Nature of life because no one redeemed man can be our Spiritual Father upon the earth. For an example, we can not make any church leader to be called: Father Jones, Father, Brown, Father Burke, and etc.

6. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because we can not made any redeemed man to be our Reverend upon the earth. The Psalmist said concerning the Divine Name of God, "Holy and reverend is his name" (Psalms 111:9). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly enhances the total sum of our own Redeemed Nature of life because we can not make any church leader to be called by this Religious Title. For illustrating purposes, we can not make any church leader to be called Rev. Jones, Rev. Brown, Rev. Burke and etc.

7. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because we can not pray to any angel or a loved one who has departed this life. Paul said, "Let not man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility (making others to be greater than you are in a religious way) and worshiping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind" (Colossians 2:18). (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly elevates the total sum of our own Redeemed Nature of life because only the Lord -not an angel nor a departed loved one - can help us to overcome the forces of evil.

8. A Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth because the distinction of the Clergy and the Laity Class of persons can not exist in matters of the New Testament Christianity. Paul said to the Church at Corinth which was making the characteristics of the Clergy and Laity Class of persons to rule in that Church, "For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men? For while one saith, I am of Paul, and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal"? (1 Corinthians 3:3-4) (KJV) Therefore, since a Ranked Hierarchy can not Scripturally RULE in the New Testament Church of Christ upon the earth, this greatly extols all aspects of our own Redeemed Nature of life because the Clergy and the Laity Class of persons can not exist in matters of New Testament Christianity.

Our Lord said, "Ye shall know the truth, and THE TRUTH shall make you FREE", i. e. of sin (John 8:32).

THE RELIGIOUS FOLLY OF MAKING A
RANKED HIERARCHY TO RULE IN HEAVEN

I.
